piano teacher and chamber musician

...with more than 20 years of professional experience.

Objectives

To provide the musical education and necessary tools to help you realize your goals at the piano.

Content

Lessons will cover all aspects of of musicianship; technique, theory, sight-reading, and performance

Style

I want to achieve a creative and fun environment for students of all levels, in which the students can learn to enjoy music and feel proud of their accomplishments and progress. Students can learn a lot by playing in front of others. Two student concerts per year are hosted at my house, where students of all levels can prove to themselves and their family what they have accomplished on the instrument in the last semester. I encourage open communication with my students. Please keep me informed about how you feel your lessons and practicing are going. Always let me know of repertoire you would like to work on. Let's have fun!

Expectations

Practice is the most important part of learning the piano. As a teacher I can only show you how to be a good musician and guide you in your study. Daily scheduled practice is necessary to acquire the basic skills and to improve your playing. Parents should support the child in discovering the piano by making sure that regular practice does take place. Yes, at times practicing may seem tedious and outright frustrating, but the rewards we gain as being musicians is worth the time spent learning. Beginning students may start out on a digital piano or similar keyboard with fully weighted keys, but it is advised that you acquire an acoustic piano if you seriously plan to learn how to play. I expect you to come to your lessons prepared and on time. When you arrive late you forfeit that portion of your lesson time as I do not extend lessons. If you are going to be late I would appreciate a call. Plan ahead and save my cell phone number in your phone: (425) 208 2084
